 2017-2018 Trustees


Caitlin C. Szematowicz - President 

Caitlin Szematowicz is a litigation attorney at the law firm of Battaglia, Ross, Dicus & McQuaid, P.A. She practices in the areas of appellate law and civil & commercial litigation. She received her juris doctor magna cum laude from the University of Florida after graduating cum laude from the University of Tampa.  In addition to serving her second year as the Young Lawyer Section Representative on the St. Petersburg Bar Foundation’s Board of Trustees, she is currently serving as the Secretary of the Barney Masterson American Inn of Court.  Caitlin is the recipient of the Inn’s 2014 Thomas E. Penick, Jr. “The Rock” Award, an award given to a lawyer with less than five years of practice who has provided exceptional service to the community.  Caitlin is also serving as the Vice President of the Pinellas County Trial Lawyers Association.  Caitlin also served as the Law Week Committee Chair for the St. Petersburg Bar Association from 2013 – 2015.

Beth Jenkins Casey - Vice President

Beth Jenkins Casey is an Assistant Director of Career Development at Stetson University College of Law. Prior to her career at Stetson, Beth practiced marital and family law with her father, Ernest Jenkins. She received her juris doctor from Stetson University College of Law after graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Journalism.  In addition to serving on the Bar Foundation’s Board, Beth is also very involved in the Young Lawyers Section of the St. Petersburg Bar Association serving on various committees and co-chairing Holidays in July. She puts her journalism degree to work by sitting on the Journeys in Journalism Advisory Board for the Pinellas County School System. She is also a member of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals group. Beth and her husband Mike are both St. Petersburg natives and avid runners.


Lynn Gordon - Treasurer

Lynn Gordon is a Parks and Recreation Manager for the City of St. Petersburg's Parks and Recreation Department. She oversees special programs, co-sponsored events, and TASCO Teen Programs for the department.  Lynn is a licensed attorney admitted to practice by the Florida Bar, and is a former Assistant City Attorney with the City of St. Petersburg having practiced in the areas of mortgage foreclosures, collections, bankruptcy, code enforcement, wage garnishments, tenant evictions, constitutional law, and contracts.

Lynn is active in her church, serving as the church clerk, and participating in the Women's Ministry and Youth Ministry.  She is also active in the PTA at Bay Point Elementary School. She and her husband have two daughters.

Steve Lewellyn - Secretary


Stephen is a registered U.S. patent attorney focusing his practice on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and IP transactions. He has over 15-yeas experience drafting and prosecuting utility and design patent applications, as well as experience in post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board including inter partes review (IPR) and covered business method (CBM) review. He frequently provides patent counseling to international companies, start-ups, and independent inventors. As well as conducting due diligence reviews and patent portfolio analysis, and preparing validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions. 

Stephen is also an adjunct professor of law at St. Petersburg College, where he teaches Intellectual Property Law, Business Law, and Cyber Law


Bill Walker - Immediate Past President

Bill Walker practices business and commercial litigation law, and is the
principal in the Law Office of William H. Walker, Chartered.  Bill received
his Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law (1973), where he served as the Executive Editor and Editor in chief of the Stetson Law Review.  He was a founding Trustee of the St. Petersburg Bar Foundation, served as the President of the St. Petersburg Bar Association (2004) and has been active in Bar and Foundation programs for many years.  He received The Barney Award from the Barney Masterson Inns of Court for professionalism (2007), was recognized as a Hero Among Us by the Foundation in 2006 and received the Law Firm Award from the Community Law Program in 2012.  He currently serves as a Director on the Board of Community Law and was twice President of the Society for the Advancement of the Poynter Library, USF Bayboro.  He is a AV rated attorney by Martindale Hubble and is a "10" rated
attorney by AVVO.

Bill has also pursued a career in the sport of competitive diving.  After competing for the University of Miami, he began coaching in Ft. Pierce then took a hiatus while going to law school.  Bill served in several Vice President positions with USA Diving, Inc. (National Governing Body under the United States Olympic Committee), and was its President and Chair from 1998 - 2002. He was a certified national diving judge for 20 years, and a FINA "A" international judge for the USA for 11 years, serving as the US member of the Diving Technical Committee of the Amateur Swimming Union of the Americas.  He has judged the US Olympic Trials, NCAA National Championships, Pan Am Games, Goodwill Games, FINA World Junior Championships and numerous other national and international events.  Bill remains active in USA Diving, and is now the Chair of the USA Diving National Board of Review (judicial
body for the sport) and is the Chair of the US Diving Foundation. His contributions to the sport were recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, naming him the 2007 Volunteer Diving Coach of the Year and by the International Swimming Hall of Fame Paragon Award in 2014. He now serves as Head Diving Coach for St. Petersburg Catholic High School and coaches divers from among all area high schools.

Jeremy D. Bailie - Board of Trustees
Jeremy is an associate with the firm Abbey, Adams, Byelick, & Mueller LLP and practices in various areas of civil defense litigation and appellate law. Jeremy received a bachelor’s degree in History from Northland International University and his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. Upon graduation from law school, he was honored with the Dean’s Award, the Michael P. Allen Award for Excellence and Professionalism, and the William F. Blews Award for Pro Bono Service. Jeremy is active in the community as a member of the Barney Masterson Inn of Court, the Pinellas County Trial Lawyers Association, and the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Transportation Task Force and the Young Professionals group.


Ronald W. Gregory, II - Board of Trustees

Ronald W. Gregory, II, is engaged in practice with the GREGORY LAW FIRM, P.L. in St. Petersburg (www.GregoryLaw.net).  Mr. Gregory, a former partner with Englander Fischer with an AVĀ® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, continues to represent owner/operator business people in the formation and structure of their entity (LLC, corp., etc); the creation of agreements to protect the interests of business , buy or sell land, lease or build out space (construction).  Then if any of those agreements need to be enforced, Mr. Gregory is well capable of going into a courtroom and advocate for the business.

Mr. Gregory has served on the St. Petersburg Bar Foundation Board of Trustees since 2013, as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and presently as President.  He has been a member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association since 2001 and has served as a Law Day speaker and currently Co-Chair of the Business Law Section.  He has also been very active since 2004 with serving St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church as an Executive Board member, Secretary, Vice President, President, Stewardship Chair and currently Sunday School Teacher.  He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1992. He and his wife, Dr. Maria Maragos Gregory, a local gynecologist, moved back to Maria’s home town of St. Petersburg in 2001, with their son and daughter, where they live in the Jungle Prada area.


Eric E. Ludin - Board of Trustees

Eric Ludin is engaged in private practice with the Law Firm of Tucker & Ludin, P.A.. His practice concentrates on immigration law, securities litigation, general and commercial litigation, commercial landlord/tenant conflicts and complex personal injury litigation. He is also a Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil mediator.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Ludin has been recognized for excellence in his practice and high ethical standards. He is an AV "Superb” peer rated attorney with the Martindale-Hubbell peer rating review service. This is the highest rating for legal ability and professional ethics. He has also been asked to serve as an expert witness for the Florida Bar on attorney ethics issues.

Mr. Ludin was President of the St. Petersburg Bar Association from 2000 - 2001. He served as President of the St. Petersburg Bar Foundation from 2004 - 2006 and again from 2013-2014. He had previously served as Treasurer for the St. Petersburg Bar and been an active member on various committees. Mr. Ludin served as the chair of the 6th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee "E” of the Florida Bar which reviews client complaints against attorneys to evaluate whether the bar should take disciplinary action.
